4 Day Weekend!

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Alrighty, gonna be a busy, but hopefully awesome, four day weekend!!! Yep that’s right my friends, I have today off 🙂 Wasn’t really intentional, just happened to pick the day without realizing it. Hee hee

So, first thing this morning we’ll be taking the HHR in to get something with the air bags fixed. It’s a recall so we won’t have to pay for it. We’ll also mention the rotor issue if we have time. I don’t think it’s a recall issue just shitty parts from somewhere in China.

Then, tonight, is the Character Generation Extravaganza. So far I’ve got 7 confirmed players showing up. We’ll see how many I can fit in the apartment LOL. I’m sure it’ll be cozy!

Saturday morning Little Turtle and the Sis are coming up from Colorado Springs. We’ll be going to some sort of festival in downtown Boulder. If nothing else maybe I’ll gaze at the ladies wearing skimpy clothes. Let’s hope its a warm day 😛

Sunday, we may game. Not sure if it’s gonna happen or not, but we’ll find out tonight probably.

And, Monday…. relax and sleep in Woo Hoo!

Not Much Happening

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Yeppers, not too much going on this week. Here’s a brief update:

I’m working my way through FFXIII and, while the game is very pretty, I’m not sold on the gameplay as of yet. First, the combat is laughably easy until about chapter 4 and then it seems to ramp up quite a bit. The story is interesting but some of the dialogue is a little cheesy. All in all, I’d say it still has some potential and, since I’m borrowing the game from Rik_Buddie, the only real investment I have to put into it is time.

Let’s see. I’m looking at adding a section to Mind Slate to include short writings and stories. With the ending of my “Baying of the Hounds” campaign, I’m thinking of posting the legends sections on it since I’m rather happy with how they turned out.

In a similar vein, I plan to sit down and read through the new Pathfinder Game Mastering Guide. I figure it’ll help bring a little food for thought before I dive back into another long running campaign.

I’ve also got to set aside a good chunk of time to finish skinning the RPG Roundtable forum. I’ve got the Portal and Gaming Calendar up and I’m satisfied with how they look. Could use some minor tweaking but since I want them to mirror the main forum I should probably return to that first.

Oh, and once again, I’m on the lookout for new players. So, if you know of a few or have a venue for advertising you’d suggest, please let me know.

Well, I ran outta time in my rambling. So it’s off to work!

Have a great day!

The Edge of Beginning

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I’m experiencing a sudden onslaught of endings and transitions. For instance, this last Saturday my long running roleplaying campaign came to an abrupt, albeit positive, end. It’ll be nice to sit back and be a player for awhile 🙂 (We’ll see how long that attitude lasts. I like to be god)

The creative energy that I put into the campaign now needs to shift to new endeavors. I’m not really sure where I’ll put it at this point but I’m determined not to just sit on my ass and let the summer pass me by.

So, here is a list of things I’m contemplating, just as a reminder for myself and those of you bored enough to really care:

  • Of course, I’m going to set aside the time to put more polish into the RPG Roundtable.
  • I’m probably also going to pick up the PS3 for a bit also. It’s been awhile since I spent some quality time with “the Baby”.
  • Read up on some on the Rifts and Pathfinder systems.
  • Pick up the Wacom and draw something
  • Fishing
  • Camping
  • Spending time with the Wifey
  • Work on my next long-term campaign world.
  • Sleep

Saturday Plans

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Let’s see… Saturday morning. Still in bed and both the Wifey and myself are on our laptops being all social and stuff. Today will be a busy one, once we get started.

This evening I’ve got a gaming session. I’d like to say I’ve got everything planned out but that just isn’t the case. I’ve found that with this current group, you plan for possibilities, but that’s about as far as you can go. That’s not a complaint by any means. I’ve got a few more calculations to make before the game but it shouldn’t take too long.

During the day itself I plan on cleaning and reworking a bit of the PC. I’ve got a large hard drive that’s chirping away like a little birdie. It’s been that way since I got the thing, but since it’s now in the bedroom I have to deal with it when I’m trying to take a nap. I’ve got to do a system backup anyway and I’m just gonna shift stuff over to the main drive and remove the hard drive. I’m gonna see if I can find the receipt and maybe RMA it, but I suspect it’s out of warranty.

Well, that’s it for now.

Back to Square One

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

So, I’ve come to the conclusion that I should fully embrace the Roman idea, as presented on the History Channel the other night, that whenever something is going well, fate will make sure that something will come up to remind you that your nothing more than a piece of shit. Sound a bit pessimistic? Sure, but I tend to think they may have struck on something.

What brought on this latest round of angry like_a_god? Frustration with the roleplaying stuff. I won’t go into any great detail other than to say that we’re suppose to start this Saturday. Now I’m not even sure if I’ll be running on Saturday or if the game will even start this month.  Regardless, I already have to throw out pretty much everything I have planned and start from scratch. Not the best way to start off a new campaign that I though my players were totally stocked for.

I’ll stop here before I say anything I would regret or not be able to take back later, when I’m not fuming…
